The points to check before selecting a motorised system: 1. Is there a power supply at the spot you wish to install the motor? 2. Does the gate work properly? Does it open and close without needing to be forced? 3. The leafs should be made of wood, PVC or metal. 4. What is the size and weight of the leafs? 5. How much space is available to install the motor (side room)?
There are two main types of gate: 1. Swing gate: Consisting of two leafs, it can be motorised in four different ways: - Motors with arms. This minimises stress on the structure and opens quickly to protect the door. - Hydraulic motors These are perfectly suited to small spaces or when your gate is regularly exposed to the wind. However, they are not recommended for PVC and unreinforced aluminium gates. - Built-in motors. These motorised systems are 100% invisible and installed directly inside the gate! - Underground motors. These discreet motors are installed under the gate. 2. Sliding gate: Its mechanism can be mounted on the gate itself or guided by rail. For this installation, the motorised system is selected based on the size and weight of the gate.
